BOOSTing Support and Wellbeing: A Letter of Thanks

Recently, the Girvan Town Team received a letter from BOOST Healthy Eating and Wellbeing Group Girvan, expressing their appreciation for the support they’ve received since their formation over three years ago. BOOST is a community group dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle through fun activities, friendship, and support. Their letter highlighted how guidance, practical assistance, and encouragement have helped them grow, connect with other groups, and make a real impact in the community.

We were truly touched by their kind words and wanted to share them here:

"We would just like to formally record our appreciation for all the wonderful support we've had from the team since we started BOOST over three years ago.

Firstly, the encouragement we've received has given us the confidence to begin and develop our group. Constructive criticism has enabled us to develop ideas and avoid many of the pitfalls that can otherwise thwart progress.

You've provided practical assistance, by both signposting us to available sources of help and direct assistance through the provision of funds. This enabled us to participate in a wider variety of local activities than we would otherwise have been able to provide. This, in turn, has supported us in the development of positive relationships with other local groups.

It was through the Town Team that we established contact with Carol Mochan MSP and were able to advocate for services for women in the area and contribute to policy development.

Your organisation has acted as a conduit for other sources of information and updates about relevant developments on the wider stage. Your regular meetings provide a focus for groups in the town and a sense of contributing to the Town Team’s wider objectives.

We look forward to continuing this positive relationship with the Town Team in the future and contributing to joint objectives."

Receiving this letter means a great deal to us. As a group dedicated to supporting local initiatives, it is always encouraging to hear that our efforts have had a positive impact. BOOST’s success is a testament to the power of community collaboration, and we are grateful to have played a small part in their journey.

We look forward to continuing to work alongside BOOST and other local groups, supporting each other to help make Girvan a stronger and more connected community.
