Paint n’ Patter Sessions are a Success

After a successful funding application to Girvan Town Team, the Paint n’ Patter group was able to purchase additional supplies. This allowed the group, which meets weekly on Thursdays, to also offer Taster Sessions.

Paint n' Patter is a peer support painting group and open studio based in The Wee School Art Space, Girvan.

The taster art sessions are designed to provide learning and break down barriers in terms of confidence. Ten participants attended the first Taster Session held on the evening of the 25th April, 2024.

The feedback has been very positive as demonstrated by the following quotes from Paint n’ Patter attendees -

"I love coming to the Art School, everyone is so lovely and welcoming. This is my second time coming and I have improved my art skills already. It is a safe space for everyone to flourish" Jess.

"Since coming to the group I have grown in my journey, learning lots of new techniques and also many lovely friends" Alexis.

"The encourgment and support I have received since joining the group has been fantastic. I didn’t know many people in the area as I only recently moved here.  I have made lots of new friends  and it has given me lots of confidence.  I now have my own studio and my first solo show up in Ayr"  Sarah.

"My Mum and I look forward to the paint and patter group. We have met so many lovely people who are now friends.  My Mum moved to GIrvan 3 years ago  and we didn’t know anyone  and now we get involved with more groups and activities thanks to everyone here.   We love all the different outings to Art galleries, taking part in art competitions and exhibitions. It has been a fab experience and great to have the support  to try new things and just enjoy painting"   Janet and Elizabeth.

Paint n' Patter holds drop-in sessions each Thursday between 11am - 3.30pm in The Wee School Art Space, 15 Henrietta Street, Girvan.

Drop in for as little or as long as you like, get creative in a relaxed environment with a range of art materials available to use, and enjoy a cuppa and a chat.
