Walking Towards Wellbeing: ACE Autumn Walking Festival

Part-funded by a £250 grant distributed by Girvan Town Team in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund, Adventure Centre for Education (ACE) will launch an Autumn Walking Festival this September—three weekends of guided walks celebrating community, wellbeing, and South Ayrshire’s natural beauty.

The programme includes coastal, hill, and mindfulness-focused walks, with something for all ages and abilities. Built on three successful years of local walks between Girvan and Barr, the expanded festival promotes health, social connection, and local pride, while also supporting community inclusion and sustainable tourism.

The Girvan Town Team grant will help fund refreshments and a community gathering following a walk between Lendalfoot and Girvan.

Chris Saunders, ACE CEO, said:
“Your contribution is helping us create an inclusive, welcoming event that celebrates our landscapes and brings people together. Thank you.”

This is one of nearly 20 local projects we’ve supported to strengthen grassroots community life in Girvan.
